Introduction

Hi, I’m Danielle Elizabeth. After building a client base of over 600 clients, I decided to launch Glowed Up Beauty to inspire myself, and other stylists, to truly “glow up.” I began my journey in beauty school at SoHo Aveda in Lower Manhattan, NYC, in 2012. Soon after, I attended Vidal Sassoon courses in London, UK, including ABC Colour and ABC Cutting.

With this experience and a passion for education, I became a color assistant at Frederic Fekkai at their flagship location. From there, I branched out on my own, moving to Charlotte, NC, where I began building a successful clientele. During this time, I became L’Oréal certified and additionally trained in balayage with Nancy Braun. I also attended in-person cutting and balayage courses at Jamison Shaw in Atlanta, GA.

In 2020, I followed my heart to Denver, Colorado, where I worked as an independent stylist at Vibe Salon in RiNo before transitioning to a career in healthcare.

Just after my first year as a non-traditional freshman at the University of Colorado, Denver, I faced major health challenges. These included open-heart surgery in 2022 to repair a congenital defect, a bicuspid aortic valve, and a dissecting aortic aneurysm. The surgery was successfully performed by Dr. Reece at UC Health, Colorado. In 2024, I began experiencing spinal health issues and a shoulder sprain. The diagnosis included two slipped discs and spinal cord stenosis, which required surgery in 2025 and 2026.

Between September 2021 and October 2024, I worked as a CNA at the University of Colorado, completing approximately 3,000 clinical hours across step-down cardiology, orthopedics, and spine specialties. This experience provided extensive hands-on patient care and helped me develop strong resilience, adaptability, and compassion. I am currently focused on advancing my skills in permanent makeup (PMU) while exploring opportunities for continued growth through higher education.

Glowed Up Beauty was created to help independent stylists and makeup artists supplement their income, connect with new clients, and leverage marketing strategies that successfully built my own clientele.

Our platform provides the resources, support, and opportunities stylists need to grow their business on their terms, all while delivering premium services to clients. Looking ahead, my goal is to expand the Glowed Up Beauty referral program to include permanent makeup services.

I am currently offering PMU at Elite Aesthetics Academy in Denver, Colorado and am accepting models at this time. In the future, I hope to provide licensed PMU artists additional earning opportunities through referrals while maintaining the flexibility of independent contracting.

I hold a BSc in Biology and Psychology from the University of Colorado Denver and hope to one day develop an environmentally friendly product line, featuring biodegradable ingredients that are safer for our water systems and sustainable for long-term use. The ecosystems around us are essential for our future, so I aim to create products that are mindful and impactful.

At Glowed Up Beauty, we’re committed to empowering stylists to earn what they’re worth, build a loyal client base, and thrive as independent professionals, all while supporting innovation, sustainability, and high-quality service in the beauty industry.

Sincerely,

Danielle Elizabeth

About Danielle

Redefining Beauty Services and Accessibility

Danielle began her career in New York City at Aveda SoHo, where she was immersed in hair cutting and color techniques. She studied Aveda’s hair coloring system and was inspired by fashion events and emerging beauty trends while obtaining a cosmetology license. She continued her education internationally at the Vidal Sassoon Academy in London, refining her skill in precision haircutting gaining certification in both ABC Cutting and ABC Color. Danielle still applies the concepts of British hair styling in her work today to compliment style with the clients’ lifestyle.

Danielle later worked in a fast-paced and editorial driven environment at Frédéric Fekkai’s Fifth Avenue flagship salon, assisting leading celebrity colorists and makeup artists at the highest level of the industry. This first hand experience working in French hairstyling complimented her foundational work in London. The sweeping motion of a hair brush or color brush, for example in balayage painted highlights, is intentional, allowing facial features to pop or recess and confidence to GLOW!

Her technical specialization continued at the L’Oréal Professional SoHo Academy in New York City, earned multiple Balayage Certifications over the course of two years. Today, Danielle is recognized for her expertise in natural, dimensional balayage, known for creating seamless blends, soft grow-out, and color that enhances the individual.

After reaching a peak in her defined success and fully booked days at the salon, Danielle decided to move cross-country, settling in Denver, Colorado following her dream to move out west. Following this transition, she enrolled at the University of Colorado, Denver, where she earned a dual Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Psychology, Magna cum laude, with a focus on Neuroscience. During this period, Danielle underwent multiple major surgeries, including open-heart surgery for a life-saving repair of a dissecting aortic aneurysm. Not long after, she underwent cervical spine surgery followed by a second spine surgery in 2026. These experiences reshaped her goals and influenced how she approaches the beauty industry.

Some of her professional goals include advocating for hairstylists and beauty professionals, particularly regarding their medical needs to sustain long-term careers; promoting health and overall well-being; and helping individuals reclaim self-agency within the beauty industry. Danielle views her multiple surgical scars as reminders that beauty is a deeper, internal reflection of self. She hopes that Glowed Up Beauty can serve as a stepping stone for new stylists, providing the confidence to eventually work independently or explore multiple income streams while pursuing other endeavors.

Her passion for education and curiosity about the mind–body connection continue to shape Glowed Up Beauty’s mission for accessible beauty services, drawing inspiration from nature, physiology, and intentional design.
